Intro : G Cadd9 G Cadd9

Verse 1 :
  G     Cadd9        G                 Cadd9
A 40 HP Johnson on a flat bottom metal boat
G             Cadd9           G
Coke cans and BB guns, barbed wire
   D/F#
and old fence posts
G                Cadd9      G           Cadd9
8-point bucks in autumn and freshly

cut cornfields
G               Cadd9      G
One arm out the window and one
   D/F#
hand on the wheel

Chorus :
                 G         Cadd9        G
Some things just go better together and
        Cadd9
probably always will
              G            Cadd9           Em
Like a cup of coffee and a sunrise,
                     D/F#
Sunday drives and time to kill
           G                 Cadd9     G
What's the point of this ol' guitar if it
          Cadd9
ain't got no strings?
   G                  Cadd9            Em
Or pourin' your heart into a song
                  D/F#
that you ain't gonna sing?
       G                Cadd9        Em
It's a match made up in heaven,
                  D/F#
like good ol' boys and beer
    Cadd9          D/F#
And me, as long as you're right here

G Cadd9 G Cadd9

Verse 2 :
     G             Cadd9       G
Your license in my wallet when we
Cadd9
  go out downtown
     G                        Cadd9
Your lipstick's stained every coffee
  G             D/F#
cup that I got in this house
    G               Cadd9
The way you say, "I love you,
      G                  Cadd9
too" is like rain on an old tin roof
         G               Cadd9
And your hand fits right into
        G           D/F#
mine like a needle in a groove

Chorus :
                 G         Cadd9        G
Some things just go better together and
       Cadd9
probably always will
              G            Cadd9
Like a cup of coffee and a sunrise,
Em                 D/F#
Sunday drives and time to kill
           G                 Cadd9     G
What's the point of this ol' guitar
               Cadd9
if it ain't got no strings?
   G                  Cadd9            Em
Or pourin' your heart into a song that
           D/F#
you ain't gonna sing?
       G                Cadd9
It's a match made up in heaven,
Em                D/F#
like good ol' boys and beer
    Cadd9          D/F#
And me, as long as you're right here

G Cadd9 G Cadd9

Bridge :
    G                   Cadd9                 Em
Sometimes we're oil and water, but I wouldn't
       Cadd9
have it any other way
    G            Cadd9        Em
And if I'm being honest, your first
         D/F#
and my last name

Chorus :
           G            Cadd9        G
Would just sound better together and
        Cadd9
probably always will
              G            Cadd9
Like a cup of coffee and a sunrise,
Em                 D/F#
Sunday drives and time to kill
           G                 Cadd9     G
What's the point of this ol' guitar if
             Cadd9
it ain't got no strings?
   G                  Cadd9            Em
Or pourin' your heart into a song that
           D/F#
you ain't gonna sing?
       G                Cadd9
It's a match made up in heaven,
Em                D/F#
like good ol' boys and beer
    Cadd9          D/F#         G     Cadd9
And me, as long as you're right here
    Cadd9          D/F#         G
And me, as long as you're right here
